Death

Yesterday, I saw a BMW 645Ci Convertible while I was driving and it almost made me crash because I was staring at the car and not the road. If I crashed, I could have died, because I wasn’t exactly going the speed limit. But talking about driving over the speed limit, this guy was clocked at 205mph by a cop in a helicopter!

And it’s no coincidence that I haven’t posted since the release of Sims 2. I don’t understand how this game is so addicting but once you start, you can’t stop! Unfortunately, I killed my first sim EVER this week. The computer was broken, I told her to fix it, but then she got electrocuted! That is very sad, but oh well, time to start on a new sim.

Finally, props to herman for finding this clip. It’s Counterstrike at KFC - so hilarious.

Names

The homepage of my work computer is netscape.com and once in a while, it links to very interesting articles, like today’s, “Most Popular Baby Names of 2004.” I checked the site out to see what they said about my name and here it is:

Daniel
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: God is my judge
Traits: Daniel is pictured as a good-looking, strong, all-American Boy Scout who is athletic, brave, kind, friendly, trustworthy, well-bred, intelligent, and easygoing.

Man, they are right on, except for the boy scouts part.

Next, I looked up my sister:

Elizabeth
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: oath of God
Traits: The name Elizabeth has two different images: a beautiful, regal woman who is spoiled, proper, and very much in control or a pretty, old-fashioned woman who is friendly and nice.

Wow, correct again!

And since Debo wanted an update, I looked up her name too.

Deborah
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: bee
Traits: Most people agree that Deborah is a good name for a willowy beauty who is dependable and intelligent. Some, though, think of Deborah as theatrical or even wild.

Haha, theatrical or wild…

Have a Good Weekend?

There are a lot of phrases we say just for the sake of saying them, like “Have a good weekend.” We all probably say it to our coworkers before we leave on Friday, but why? Everyone obviously tries to have a good weekend so saying “Have a good weekend” is just redundant. It’s like saying, “Leave work today”, or “You’re a human.” DUH. And it’s not like I was planning on having a bad weekend, and then after you wished me a good weekend, I decided to have a good weekend. And what if you planned on having a good weekend but it didn’t turn out well? If your buddy asks you on Monday if you had a good weekend, you might feel depressed. There were just random thoughts I had on the drive home.
