Last day at work. Anxiety, happiness, sadness.
The rollercoaster I’m on takes me through the entire emotional spectrum.
I will not miss the lab meetings though. Today’s was 1.5 hours long. Too long.

Surprise pot-luck party for me. Enormo card + gift card.
Food excellent. Treasuring the last social interactions I’ll have with them.
We talk, smile, laugh. Day half done. Leaving will be tough.

I hit the gym. Go for a run, try not think about them.
But I can’t push the pain away. My legs are getting tired.
My heart doesn’t think about pumping blood.
It toils over “the end.”

It’s almost time to go. Take pictures with everyone.
Give them handshakes, hugs.
Reality sets in. Goodbye is tough.

And last week, my mom found 2 robins on the driveway, which my sister promptly rescued.

My sister took them for a “walk” outside and here is Cookie, a half hunting dog, showing off her pointer stance, getting ready to pounce. She did manage to bite (harmlessly?) one of the birds, but was scolded loudly by my sister. Haha… poor Cookie.

Yay, I’m 21! I can drink! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

Today, I quit World of Warcraft (at least temporarily), but it feels good to break an addiction that just ate up all my time. SO MUCH FREE TIME I HAVE!!! What to do??? Maybe now I’ll have time to train for that marathon I’ve always not wanted to run, finish learning Tchaikovsky’s piano concerto, find cures for cancer, or adopt every single kid in Africa. Africa!!! Why do I keep thinking about you???

Other things:
Godiva Chocolixirs - whoa. I drove 20 minutes just to get this… twice. The only Godiva store I know of is in Roosevelt Field Mall… If you know one closer to Syosset with the Chocolixirs, let me know pronto!
