My Hero
My newest hero is Oprah, because of her incredible generosity to help others. I was watching her 1 hr special on Monday on how she built an academy for female students in South Africa, in an effort to train future leaders of this world. As I heard the girls’ stories on how difficult their lives were - sometimes eating only one meal a week, worrying about getting raped on the way to school, coping with parents who abandoned them or passed away, I realized how lucky I am. The funny thing is, even though those girls had so little, they appeared so joyous and carefree. They didn’t let what they didn’t have bother them, and they made the most of what they did have. I wish I can learn from their spirit, and also have a positive effect on this world like my hero Oprah.

Valentine’s Day
Guess what White Castle served!!!

Haha, just kidding. But the Leongs observed Valentine’s Day by celebrating our love for meat. In this case, we (except for Liz) enjoyed a medium rare prime rib roast.

Elevator chatter
I overheard some women talking on the elevator about clothes and shopping, and I think one lady meant to say, “I’ve been to Century 21.” Instead, she said, “I’ve been to the 21st century.” I smiled widely to myself, but the other two ladies didn’t say anything, which makes me wonder if there is a store called 21st Century. I doubt it though.
And you know those “in case of emergency, take the stairs” signs? They should make one that says “in case of obesity, take the stairs.” Our nation is too fat. We need to exercise.
